The Local Craic is a daily community newsletter about Bray and nearby places. These terms apply when you visit localcraic.ie, subscribe to, read or interact with The Local Craic (the Newsletter), including through Beehiiv.
The Newsletter is operated by Tyche Digital Media Limited, a company registered in Ireland (CRO number 741635). You can contact us at [email protected]. Our correspondence address is Glencap Commons North, Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow, A98AY91, Ireland.
Registered office: Glencap Commons North, Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow, A98AY91, Ireland.
By using the Newsletter, you agree to these terms. A separate Privacy Notice applies to personal information. Beehiiv provides the email-subscription platform and its own terms may also apply.
At the date of these terms, subscribing to the Newsletter is free. The current free signup does not create a paid membership, purchase or competition entry.
The Newsletter is intended for people aged 18 or over. By subscribing, you confirm that you are at least 18. We do not carry out age verification. If you are under 18, please do not subscribe; if you have already subscribed, ask us or use the unsubscribe link to remove your address.
You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email or by contacting us. We may change, pause or stop the free Newsletter where reasonably necessary, for example for operational, legal or editorial reasons.
We may later offer sponsorships, affiliate content, paid subscriptions or competitions. These possibilities do not change the current free subscription.
Before you sign up for a paid service, we will provide its separate terms and the applicable key information, including what is supplied, price and charges, billing and renewal, cancellation and consumer rights. Before a competition or prize draw opens, we will publish separate entry, eligibility, prize and selection terms. Those terms will apply alongside these terms where stated.
We aim to make the Newsletter useful and accurate, but it is not professional advice. Check directly with the organiser, venue, seller or relevant professional before relying on material information, including event dates, times, availability, prices, accessibility, booking conditions, health, financial or legal matters.
An issue is dated when published. Where practical, event and listing items will identify the relevant event date. Details can change after publication, and older newsletters may no longer be current. Please tell us about a material error or update at [email protected]. We will consider corrections and, where appropriate, correct or clarify the item.
The Newsletter may link to, mention or enable bookings with independent third parties. We do not control their websites, stock, availability, safety, pricing or terms. Any purchase, booking or other contract with them is between you and that third party. Their terms and privacy information apply.
We may carry advertising, sponsorships, paid placements and affiliate links. Paid placements or sponsored content will be labelled clearly. An affiliate link may earn us a commission if you buy from the linked business; we will make any required disclosure. A sponsor or advertiser does not receive information that identifies you simply because it has placed an advert or sponsored the Newsletter.
The Newsletter, its design and the material we create are protected by copyright and other rights. Some material belongs to contributors, partners, photographers, event organisers or other third parties. Their rights remain theirs.
You are welcome to share an intact Newsletter or a link to it with friends and on social media. Please do not copy, alter, republish, sell, scrape or commercially use substantial parts of the Newsletter without permission, unless the law allows it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights the law gives you, such as fair dealing or quotation rights.
We welcome replies, local tips, poll responses and possible reader submissions, but we do not promise to read, reply to, publish or act on every item. The Site does not currently offer a public comments feature. Do not send confidential, private, commercially sensitive or unlawful material unless we have expressly agreed in writing to receive it on that basis.
You keep ownership of what you submit. By sending us material for possible use, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to edit it for length and clarity and to use it in, and reasonably promote, The Local Craic in its newsletter, website, social channels and archive. This permission is limited to running and promoting the publication; it does not transfer ownership. We will ask separately before using your submission in advertising or for another materially different purpose.
You confirm that you have the right to send the material and that using it as above will not infringe someone else’s rights or break the law. Please do not submit material that is defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, misleading, invasive of privacy, or contains someone else’s personal information without a proper reason and permission.
Please use the Newsletter lawfully and do not try to interfere with the website or subscription service. We may restrict access or remove material where reasonably necessary to protect people, comply with the law or run the Newsletter safely.
We do not promise that every item, link or third-party service will always be available, complete or error-free. We will use reasonable care in preparing the Newsletter and handling reported errors. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your mandatory consumer rights are not affected.
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material to an ongoing subscription, we will give reasonable notice by email or in the Newsletter where practical. The latest version will show its effective date.
Irish law governs these terms. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections available under the law of the country where you live. Nothing in these terms requires a dispute to be brought only in a court that would not otherwise have jurisdiction under applicable law.
Questions, corrections or concerns can be sent to [email protected].
