Nobody's coming to approve your idea

People assume that real businesses get built by other people with more resources. It's how great ideas get stuck in notes apps and conversations.

Describe what you want to exist and Lovable builds it: a real site, a real product, ready to accept real payments from real customers. Not a mockup to show people. An actual thing they can use.

You don't need anyone's sign-off to get started. Take $5 off your first month.

🧩 A new special school for Bray

The Department of Education has selected Bray as one of four locations for a new special school for the 2026/27 school year, intended to create more local places for children and young people with complex special educational needs. Admissions details and the number of places have not yet been announced.

Bray’s voluntary, not-for-profit sports clubs and community groups can apply to the 2026 Community Sport Facilities Fund for local projects. Local project grants can reach €250,000, and applications close on 26 February 2027.

🏛️ The Story Behind It: Bray Town Hall

Bray Town Hall was built in 1882 for Lord Brabazon, as both a town hall and covered market. It was designed by Thomas Newenham Deane and Son and stands where Main Street meets Vevay Road and Killarney Road.

Market stalls once filled the ground floor, with the council chamber upstairs. A verse carved under the south porch reminded traders to deal fairly and avoid disputes. The black-and-white gables and small spire are still there; McDonald’s has occupied the building since 1997.

🎞 From the RTÉ Archives: Made in Bray, 1983

The Bray & District Chamber of Commerce turns 70 this year; it was founded in 1956. One snapshot of Bray business from that time is the Chamber’s “Made in Bray” exhibition at St Thomas Community College in 1983. It showcased locally made products, with talks on manufacturing and exports.
